The Creative Process
As a digital artist and graphic designer, my creations aren’t made with traditional paint and brush strokes. Instead, I use computer software and words to direct artificial intelligence to begin the creation process.
Ultimately, the artwork reflects my journey as an artist – a journey marked by exploration and creativity. It celebrates the unknown and pays tribute to the transformative power of art. These AI creations pique interest and showcase the remarkable things that can happen when imagination meets innovation.
The process is often challenging. I provide specific instructions about color themes, styles, backgrounds, and moods, but the artificial intelligence algorithm doesn’t always get it right on the first try. I have to tweak my wording, rearrange phrases, and continuously refine my approach to align the AI’s understanding of the image I’m aiming for. The process resembles that of an author, using words to guide the AI towards the story and the emotion that I’m trying to draw out.
Do I deserve all the credit? Of course not. The software creates under my guidance and direction. It’s a collaboration between my brain and an artificial one. And the initial results are just the beginning; I use several other applications to polish the rough drafts into the final artwork.
As a digital artist, I use the tools at my disposal to tell stories, much as I always have – to move people, to inspire them, and to evoke emotions. That, to me, is the essence of art.
